The AiA Journey Begins

Thanks for joining us!

Good company on a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

Erich and I have been working together in different companies and formats for 30 years. Herman is the the young gun and joined us at UDA 3 years ago. UDA was located in Stellenbosch for 6 years and then moved to Bellville in 2017. We have on 7 February 2019 set up a collaborative association and are working from our own private studios in Stellenbosch (Erich), Pringle Bay (Andrew) and Gordons Bay (Herman).

We are passionate, professional and fully digital architects. We collaborate remotely via our building information modelling software, Skype, Dropbox and email. We meet weekly and often work together on a deadline at one of the three studios.

We issue our clients with a BIMX viewer which allows them to track the design in virtual 3D via their own browsers. They can walk through their design and make informed inputs as the design progresses. We issue a similar system to the contractors who get realtime updates and can similarly fly or walk to any part of the building and access the specifications and details associated with it.

We practice with a small environmental footprint. Working from our home towns, submitting plans digitally and issuing construction drawings via Drop Box or similar cloud services.

The resulting cost efficiency, speed and professionalism is passed on directly to our clients. All our projects start at a fee set at 50% of the recommended tariff as published in the Government Gazette by the South African Council for the Architectural Profession.

You will have a hands on professionally registered architect on your job from concept to final completion. Try us, we will bring your building from the cloud to the ground smartly and effectively.
